Andhra Pradesh is a state in the southern coastal region of India. It is the seventh-largest state. Some of the popular religious pilgrim destinations include Tirumala Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, Srikalahasti temple, Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam, Shahi Jamia Masjid in Adoni, Gunadala Church in Vijayawada, and Buddhist centres at Amaravati and Nagarjuna Konda. The region is home to a variety of other pilgrimage centres, such as the Pancharama Kshetras, Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, Kanaka Durga temple and Kodanda Rama temple.
Overview
The state has several beaches in its coastal districts such as Rushikonda, Mypadu, Suryalanka etc.; caves such as, Borra Caves, Indian rock-cut architecture depicting Undavalli Caves and the country’s second longest caves- the Belum Caves. The valleys and hills include, Araku Valley, Horsley Hills, Papi Hills, and Gandikota gorge. Arma Konda peak located in Visakhapatnam district is the highest peak in Eastern Ghats.
